Belize 2016

BELIZE SUMMER 2016: May 22-June 19, 2016


Program Overview: This is a 4-credit course designed to introduce students to the methods used to collect and analyze archaeological data in a hands-on field setting. The course takes place over the span of 4 weeks at a remote archaeological field camp in Belize, Central America. Students receive instruction in archaeological excavations, making technical drawings, survey and instrument mapping, and basic field laboratory procedures at the Medicinal Trail Site. In addition, students have the opportunity to learn about the Prehispanic Maya through lectures and field trips.

Course cost is $2600 plus $400 for 4 ANTH 197 or 4 ANTH 469* credits (*must have completed ANTH 107). Students must register for credit. Course cost does not included round-trip airfare to Belize, credit tuition, textbook, immunizations, personal spending.
