Academic Leadership Program Overview

Resident Academic Leadership Program (ALP) Scholarship

  • Value: $1,000-1,500

The ALP Scholarship is a competitive award, and is valued from $1,000 to $1,500 per year, renewable for four years. To apply for the ALP Scholarship, a student must have at least a 3.2 grade point average, and have a minimum test score of 21 on the ACT or 990 on the SAT. The student must have demonstrated leadership skills in at least three different types of activities in high school.

Non-Resident Academic Leadership Program (ALP) Scholarship

  • Value: $1,250-2,500

For non-residents, the ALP Scholarship is a competitive award, and holds the same requirements as for Colorado Residents. The ALP Scholarship is valued from $1,250 to $2,500 for non-resident students.

  • Students must demonstrate involvement on Western's campus to receive full award.

  • Students must live on campus to receive full award.

  • Students must submit application, essay, and two letters of recommendation to be considered.
