WUE Freshman Scholarships

Incoming freshmen who are residents of the following states are eligible for WUE and the scholarships listed below: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

Western State College of Colorado participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program.  Students under WUE tuition classification will be charged 150% of in-state tuition.  For 2009-2010, WUE tuition was $7,770 for a full-time student.  To qualify for WUE tuition classification, a student must have at least a 2.25 GPA with a minimum 18 ACT or 850 SAT* score.  Students with WUE tuition classification are required to live on-campus for their first 2 years. A 2.00 cumulative grade point average is required for renewal each year.  WUE spaces are limited – the application deadline to be considered for WUE for the 2011-2012 academic year is February 25, 2011.

Additional 4-year Merit Scholarships

Western Scholars Award - $2,000

  • 4.00 GPA; 22 ACT/1000 SAT* or higher
  • 3.00-3.99 GPA; 28 ACT/1240 SAT* or higher
  • Awarded in addition to WUE program
  • 3.00 cumulative grade point average required for renewal each year

Western Advantage Award - $1,500

  • 3.00-3.99 GPA
  • 22-27 ACT /1000-1230 SAT*
  • Awarded in addition to WUE program
  • 2.75 cumulative grade point average required for renewal each year

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

* All SAT scores are combined Critical Reading and Math scores only.
