Supported Computing Hardware

Computer Services only supports hardware that is owned by the College and used for College business and has been approved via the Hardware/Software Requisition process (HSR). Hardware which falls within the standard categories below must be selected from the approved models. If your hardware is not listed and/or does not fall within a category listed below, contact Computer Service.

Inclusion in this list does not imply the College will necessarily provide said hardware, only that we will provide support for just the models listed.

Computers

  • Laptops: (Laptops used as a desktop replacement must be purchased with a docking station.)
    • Dell Latitude E series
    • Apple Macbook Pro
  • Desktops:
    • Dell Optiplex Series
    • Apple iMac

Printers

  • Black & White (8.5/11):
    • HP LaserJet 4015n w/duplex (networked) or
    • HP LaserJet P2015d (USB) or
    • HP LaserJet P1505n (USB)
  • Color:
    • HP Color LaserJet 3525n
  • Large Format (11x17):
    • HP LaserJet 5200

Handheld Devices

  • Blackberry, connected via Blackberry Enterprise Server.
    • Blackberry Curve
    • Blackberry Pearl
    • Most newer models will also work, contact Computer Services.
  • Mail Server Information
    • Server type: Exchange 2007
    • Outlook Web Access URL: https:\\exchange.western.edu\owa
