Residence Hall Network Access

The WSCU network can be access via a wired or wireless connection. This page lists which type of connection is located on campus and specific information on connecting via wireless.

All campus residence halls and apartments have connectivity to the WSCU network and the Internet. If you plan to bring a personal computer, please be aware of the computing requirements and recommendations.

Wired AND Wireless Buildings

The following residence halls and apartments provide a wired AND wireless network connection.

For more information on connecting your personal computer and/or other devices in the dorms read: Campus network access requirements - Personal Devices.
  • Mears
  • Moffatt (Mears Complex)
  • Robidoux (Mears Complex)
  • Crystal (Escalante Complex)
  • Tomichi (Escalante Complex)
  • Colorado (Escalante Complex)
  • Dolores (Escalante Complex)
  • Chipeta (Apartments)

For connectivity to the wired network, residents will need an ethernet adapter (10/100/1000Base-TX, most computers have them built in) and a network cable (6 - 12' long) for their computer. If you are living in a dorm or apartment with a wired connection but bringing a laptop, you should consider outfitting your computer with a wireless network adapter (802.11 b/g) as well because there are other areas of campus that provide wireless network access for residents.

Wireless ONLY Residence Buildings

Wireless networking can be found in the following locations throughout campus for use by all WSCU students, faculty & staff:

If using your personal computer on the wireless network, be sure it meets the Computer Recommendations and contains a wireless network card (802.11 b/g).
