Music Major for a Day at Western

You’re Invited to be a “Music Major for a Day” at Western on Monday, February 10, 2020.

Western Colorado University invites you to become a Music Major for a Day! This day is meant to show prospective students what it is like to study Music at Western. During this preview day, students will attend classes, rehearsals, take a campus tour and even have a lesson! Lunch will be included in the tour. Bring your instruments and come see what Western’s music department has to offer!

Schedule / Itinerary for Music Major for a Day:

10:00 a.m. – Meeting with Professor Kenneth Todd and other available faculty for music program discussion. Meeting with Instrumental Music Majors and detailing schedule for each student (Meet in the Quigley Lobby)

11:00 a.m. – Aural Skills (in Quigley)

11:20 a.m. – Lunch with Faculty

12:30 p.m. – Jazz Band/Meetings with string students (in Quigley)

1:30 p.m. – Tour/Bookstore/Break

3:00 p.m. – Choir; meetings with Mr. Todd for strings (in Quigley); meetings with Woodwind players; meetings with Brass Players

4:15 p.m. – Wind Symphony; Meetings with String Music Majors; possible mini lessons for strings; Composition meetings (in Quigley)

5:30 p.m. – Orchestra; meetings for composition interested students (in Quigley)

7:30 p.m. – Percussion Ensemble (in Quigley)
