For the following award opportunities, submit a nomination letter for another student.

Please send letters to at kclark@western.edu, using the subject title “ENVS Service Nomination”. Self-nominations will not be accepted for these two awards. We want to celebrate and encourage connection between the undergraduate ENVS and graduate MEM program, and these awards have been developed accordingly.

For undergraduates – Steve Dunn Service Award: $500

  • In honor of retired ENVS faculty member and co-founder of the ENVS Program—Dr. Dunn, the Steve Dunn Service Award is intended to honor the undergraduate that maximizes the potential of connecting with, learning from, and engaging with the MEM program. Consider submitting a nomination letter for a fellow undergraduate that exemplified these values.

For graduate students – Margie Haley Service Award: $500

  • We also welcome your nominations for graduate students that have helped our community build a bridge between the two programs. Thus, we’re pleased to announce the Margie Haley Service Award, which recognizes an MEM student that exemplifies graduate student service to the undergraduate community. If you know an MEM student that has served you well, consider submitting a nomination on their behalf.
