Veterans Services

American Flag Salute

Here at Western State College of Colorado, we Believe in Giving Back.  We are proud of the services, and  selfless sacrifice, that Veterans have provided our country, and we are honored to have the opportunity to provide those who have served with the resources and support needed to pursue educational goals at Western State College.

Veterans, and their dependents, can be confident that WSC is committed to helping all students acheive academic success.  Through carefully coordinating efforts with various resources on campus, we strive to simplify the process of receiving educational benefits, such as the new Post 9/11 GI Bill.

On Campus Resources:

The Academic Resource Center provides support for student success and is considered to be a 'one-stop shop' for first-year advising, learning skills, resource referral, career prepration and support, and disability services.

Admissions guides you through the process of applying to Western; providing an array of services and information such as campus tours, an overview of academic programs, available scholarships, and fast facts about Western.

Counseling and medical services may be obtained at the Campus Health Center, in Tomichi Hall.

There are many different scholarships, grants, and funding options available.  Students may also develop payment plans and pay their accounts online via Financial Aid.

Western State College encourages students to become active participants in the college community.  Veterans may want to consider contacting Residence Life to consider available on-campus housing options.

Our Veterans Certifying Official is available to counsel students on how to apply for, collect, and maintain VA Educational Assistance Entitlement. The Certifying Officer is prohibited from offering any benefit counseling. All benefit counseling must be obtained directly through Veterans Affairs.

Westerners In Transition is a program designed to assist non-traditional students navigate successfully through their educational process; through mentoring, scholarships, and networking WIT can be an invaluable resource.
