Registration Services is able to provide comprehensive information throughout a student's college career. This page has been developed as a resource to assist a wide variety of people including current students, parents, potential employers, and alumni. Anything from dates of attendance to replacement diplomas; we strive to make difficult information easy to obtain.
Release of Academic Information and Your Rights to Privacy
(Buckley Amendment and FERPA)
Information regarding your rights to privacy, and information regarding data regarded as "directory" information may be found in the Student Handbook.
For questions about your right to privacy and information that may be released to the public, please contact the Office of Student Affairs, (970) 943-2011. Registration Services follows the federal regulations regarding student privacy. We cannot give out academic information over the phone, including grades or GPA. We will not give out any academic information to anyone who is not the student without the student's written permission. This restriction also includes parents.
If you wish to have your grades sent to your parents, please fill out the Authorization for Release of Academic Information form and submit it to the Office of Student Affairs in Taylor 221 for processing.
Replacement Diploma Requests
The only copy of a student's diploma is the one that was issued upon graduation. The Office of the Registrar does not keep a copy. For a replacement diploma to be issued, please fill out the Replacement Diploma Request form.
The attendance and graduation of the person in question will be verified by the Registrar’s Office.
Replacement diplomas are available for a fee of $20, which must be made in advance. The diploma will be issued only in the name under which the student attended Reed. (In the case of an official name change, court documents must be produced, and the Official Transcript will indicate the new name.)
Prior to pick-up or mailing of the replacement diploma, originals or notarized copies of one of the following must be produced for identification:
- Current Driver's License
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
The replacement diploma may not be exactly identical to the original.

Verification of Enrollment/Degree
The Registrar's Office at Western is able to provide the following types of verification:
- Enrollment Status: Western State College of Colorado has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment verifications. This enables student service providers to verify enrollment for students 24/7. Verifications may be used for multiple purposes, including insurance coverage, loan deferments, student discounts, internships, scholarship and visa applications, as well as Study Abroad programs.
As a student, you may access FREE Student Self-Service:

2. Click on: Student -> Student Records -> Enrollment Verification
