Assessment Committee 2011-2012
1. Improving student learning and development by identifying intended academic goals, providing feedback on student learning, and using feedback to modify aspects of the programs to ensure that the goals are being achieved and student learning is improved.
2. Using multiple approaches to assessment including both quantitative and qualitative data.
3. Making use of existing assessment data, e.g., discipline assessment plans, information on admission, retention, and completion; results from student and alumni surveys; findings from accreditation agencies; and institutional program reviews.
4. Assisting departments, disciplines, and various offices on campus in taking responsibility for developing/identifying assessment methodologies for improving student learning.
