Assessment Committe Notes - January 28, 2008
Assessment Committee Meeting
January 28, 2008, 3 p.m.
Hurst Hall 120
Present: Nancy Gauss, Kathleen Kinkema, Suzanne Larsh, Caroline Mitchell, Anne Ryter, and Karin Waidley (Kim Brown, recorder)
Absent: Lynn Sikkink and Jessica Young
The first item of business today was an update about travel arrangements for the assessment conference scheduled for Feb. 21-23 in Boston. Kim Brown confirmed that she had registered all committee members planning to attend (each “campus team member” should receive an email confirmation of her registration as well). The airline tickets were purchased in October, and hotel reservations have also been made for the registrants.
The response to the Faculty Senate’s writing request was then discussed. Anne Ryter distributed a draft of the reply memo to be sent, and committee members’ input was incorporated. She will send the revised document to the group for additional input before it is submitted to the Senate.
After discussing each of the fall 2007 GE faculty goals assessment responses, individual feedback memos were drafted. Co-chair Anne Ryter will distribute the finalized memos to involved faculty and their respective department chairs.
Finally, committee meeting dates were set for the rest of the semester: Feb. 11th, March 3rd and 24th, and April 14th and 28th. Suzanne Larsh will provide advising survey results when the group convenes next month. Additional dates will be determined for late May or early June to discuss final discipline assessment plans, which are due May 15.
The group adjourned at approximately 4:15 p.m.
