Gunnison River Restoration
ENVS students partnered with the National Park Service to conduct restoration along the Gunnison River. Working to reverse more than a century of land misuse, students replanted native vegetation, installed protection for cottonwood trees, and cleaned up the area. They also used the service day to research and teach the historical processes that led to environmental degradation in the area, and the role of the National Park Service in managing such areas.
