The Teacher Education Program at Western is designed to meet the diverse needs of all current and future educators.
Our Goals:

2011-2012 Officer Team:
President: Lia Coleman
Lia Coleman is a Junior majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her goal is to become a 3rdgrade teacher in order to positively influence the lives of her students. Lia not only has a passion for teaching but learning is something that she has a deep understanding and respect for. It is her vision that through the Education Club, she will have the ability to begin her journey of changing lives in Gunnison.
Vice President: Joe Dean
Joseph Dean is a Senior majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. He is an active member in the Gunnison Literacy Action Program. He has been an employee at the local Ace Hardware for two years. Joe hopes to spend his life facilitating and teaching children.
Secretary: Rebecca Oeding
Rebecca Oeding is Senior majoring in English with an emphasis in Secondary Education. Rebecca also has a minor in Spanish and is in the WSCU Honors Program. She is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honors Society at Western. She works for the CALL Department as a Spanish Aid. Rebecca would love to teach high school students.
Treasurer: Chloe Masseria
Chloe Masseria is a Junior majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. She has worked as Intramurals Supervisor since 2010. Other activities she is a participates in are: Partners mentoring program, Gunnison literacy, and is a staff writer for Top 'O' World. Chloe would love to teach 4th graders.
Faculty Advisor: Cori Woytek
Cori Woytek is excited to be the Education Club Advisor. Cori, her husband Jim, and son Asher recently moved back to Gunnison (Gunnison natives) from New Jersey where she and Jim taught and attended graduate school. With a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Cori taught 3rd Grade in New Jersey for six years. She attended Gwynedd-Mercy College and obtained her Master’s degree in K-12 Reading. She is thoroughly enjoying her first year at Western and is looking forward to working with Undergraduate and Graduate students in the future years to come.
